Following the success of her 2024 debut album ‘She’s Me,’ Canadian country singer Dayna Reid joined in today’s New Music Friday (June 6) with her first single of the year. “Better than Blue” celebrates the female friendships in her life and, as she shares on Instagram, “being there for your friends through thick and thin.”
The song’s chorus sums up the feel-good vibes perfectly and will ring true for every female friend group and BFF pairing: “I’ll be that pick me up when you’re down in the dumps / that midnight call when he’s all out of love / help you bounce back when he hung up on a heartbreak / … / you’ll be good as gold with a brand new shine.”
The track, which Dayna first previewed live at this year’s Departure Fest and again during the CMAOntario Awards weekend, is our first taste of a new sonic era and we can’t wait to hear what’s next.
