Working with Global Citizen to take action could come with a big reward on Sept. 27 — tickets to this year’s Global Citizen Festival in New York City, which just announced The Weeknd, Shakira, Tyla, Ayra Starr, and Mariah the Scientist as its first round of artists taking over Central Park. Ambassador Hugh Jackman will serve as host of this year’s festivities, guiding audiences through an epic day of music and action.
While some tickets and VIP packages will go on sale to the general public, many are reserved for everyday change-makers through the Global Citizen app. By “taking action” and signing digital petitions, completing interactive quizzes, contributing your voice via video, and pledging action both online and IRL, you earn points, which can be entered in a lottery for tickets that will be distributed *for free!* throughout the summer.
In addition to general actions, this year’s festival campaign will rally fans to power up communities across Africa, bring education and football to more kids with FIFA, and help protect the Amazon and its Indigenous communities before it’s too late.
Here’s a festival you can truly feel good about attending — before, during, and after the show.
