Sam Smith announces new album ‘Hazel Eyes’ out Aug. 21

After teasing an upcoming album with 2025 singles “Love Is A Stillness” and “To Be Free (Demo Version)” and a series of international residencies, Sam Smith has officially announced the release of their fifth album ‘Hazel Eyes,’ due out Aug. 21 via Capitol Records.

In an email to their fans, Sam describes the album, which was recorded at the iconic Electric Lady Studios in their new home New York, as “an honest account of my life the last few years, and a sweet escape for anyone who needs it. I believe, after this record more than ever, that love is a cure and music is a sanctuary and honesty is my north star.”

Accompanying the announcement, Sam has also released “My Guy,” a track co-written by Canadian indie-pop icon Feist, as the album’s next single. On the romantic song (almost certainly inspired by their reported fashion designer fiance Christian Cowan), Sam sings, “And like all good things, it caught me by surprise / You could dream he’s yours all you want, but he’s mine / He’s my guy.”

“This is a song that I feel I have been waiting a lifetime to write and sing,” said Sam via a press release. “In this sometimes cold and distant world, I hope you can feel the love and the closeness of this recording. I tried to capture the glow and the warmth of love in this one, it makes me cry, maybe it will make you feel a little love too.”
